A Bridge Too Far

Image
I figured this would be too wordy for Patreon, but there’s nothing too major here. The schedule right now: Monday through Thursday = futa daily (Blended 2) Friday = MF (We’re Just Cursed) Saturday = yuri day (Summer Rebellion) Sunday = futa genre day (Resident Futa 0) STUPIDITY AND FAILURE TO LEARN FROM PATTERNS I only work part time in the summer, so I have all this time, and I get really brave about making plans and new projects, and that’s how we ended up with ‘We’re Just Cursed’ on top of everything else. Now that I’m back to work full time and insanely busy, I’m reminded that committing to anything more than 1 new chapter a day and 1 new interactive chapter a week is foolish. So, I’ll try to let things scale down organically this fall and winter, and then immediately bite off more than I can chew again next summer because I have the memory of a goldfish. PLANS I won’t waste time talking about plans and ideas; many of them will just change by the time I get around t...

Office Wars (Now Hiring)

Image
If this was summer and I had more time, there would be a Piper: Office  Edition trading card with this post.  Instead, hastily googled sexy OL.  Reader, Your comments show decisive leadership! You’ve been asked to fill in for the hiring manager at one of two offices: YURIVISION and FUTASOFT. These offices exist outside the main timelines, so the ages of characters may line up in ways that we haven’t seen before. You can choose from the list of applicants that you will receive. The basis for your choice is up to you. Do you think they are qualified? Do you just want them in the story? Do you think they’re unqualified and want to see what will happen? All valid. Whoever you pick will occupy that position when the time comes, for better or worse; the entire cast of the story and their positions will be chosen this way. There’s more to it, but that’s all that matters right now.   There are already several winners, but there are still 15~ positions unfilled. If you w...

F-Files Postmortem

Image
F-Files has ended. As we’ve seen many times in the past, I had an impulse out of left field that was strong enough that I actually sat down and wrote it. I really liked the actual X-Files; some things about it just spoke to me. Just like Judge Dredd did once, and various other things. My passion for RE seems to be eternal. Will X-Files fade in my brain as Judge Dredd and so many others have? We’ll see. Anyway, my VFU stories are definitely shifting into a more structured and plot-driven area. “Come for the smut, stay for the plot,” is probably closed to what I’m aiming for, although I understand that for most readers that does not align with the more common and perfectly legitimate position of: “Come for the smut, then get back to doing other things,” I get that, but I do it for the love of the game and I’m sure my approach will continue to change. And of course, if we’re going to do “Come for the smut,” then the smut needs to be compelling, which is something that I’m still hit or m...

The F-Files

Image
If it feels like the F-Files came out of left field after Blended , that’s fair. It’s definitely an indulgent choice on my part. If you’re not familiar with the show, it’s notable for a few things: great chemistry between the leads, pushing the boundaries of sci-fi/horror on TV back when it was new, and not being afraid to let you wonder. That’s one of the things I like most about it: it’s comfortable being ambiguous. At a glance, it probably looks like we’re hitting the brakes pretty hard after Blended, or swerving away from that level of zany horniness, but the swerve isn’t as big as you think. VFU characters will populate the F-Files, and the horniness will be there too. We won’t know how well the combination of lewd and spooky works until we see how it goes. Historically, this has been a weak area for me, and I’m being intentional about this being an opportunity to do better. I hope you’ll give F-Files a shot, and whether it goes well or not, I expect the next daily to be Blended ...

Why am I like this?

Image
For context: I recently released an unusual story in one of the Patreon Twine collections called PICNIC AT BANGING ROCK . To explain it, we have to start at the beginning. I love the Muppets. I especially love it when they do classic literature and stick a bunch of Muppets in there. Over the years, I’ve flirted with trying this as more of the VFU characters have sort of firmed up and become distinct and recognizable. At some point, I started itching to do my own version of this, and we started seeing it with stuff like the SSS where we did the The Thing and Alien vs Futa , but those were all new characters instead of established VFU regulars. The Heat SSS story wasn’t perfect, but I feel like it was a decent early prototype of me trying this. The VFU characters were fine; the story wasn’t the best choice, and I didn’t do a good job building the plot around lewd scenes. I just stuck lewd scenes in there. I think I can do better in the future. Anyway, there I was, looking for movies ...

What is Resident Futa?

Image
The shortest explanation possible:  1. I like RE and know a bit about it. 2. I did a weird interactive RE futa story using some characters from my story, Futa Soccer Camp . It was called Resident Futa: Revelations , and there’s a lot that could be written about that. It was a very odd project.  3. There was a commission for a sequel to Resident Futa: Revelations that turned out to be an adaptation of RE2 which continued with the OCs being in Resident Evil alongside the real RE characters.  4. This gave birth to a continuity of Resident Evil game adaptations with some changes to the canon to facilitate lewdness and futa stuff because the name is Resident Futa.  5. I’ve already done 2 and 4 (courtesy of a generous commissioning reader) in addition to the prologue and Requiem. Some of these adaptations are more faithful than others. RF2 is the wildest and deviates the most from the game, which creates all these other ripples that are felt in other RF entries....

Confessions!

Image
Where to begin? The “Confessions” thing in the latest VFU By Night is based on a real website where people ostensibly post about their experiences. You don't want to hear the convoluted story of how I learned about and then got obsessed with this site, so instead, a big, broad version: I didn’t get to grow up in the 90s, and I didn’t get to experience the early internet, but the history of some of this stuff fascinates me. It shouldn’t surprise anyone that horny stuff relating this subject is doubly good at pulling me in. The site itself is a complicated subject, and while I would never defend it against some of the legitimate questions that could be raised about it, it hits all the right notes for sucking me in. That’s why it’s the basis/template for Confessions , which will get renamed at some point. It’s not a parody of the website exactly, although I may poke fun at some patterns that I’ve noticed when reading posts on there.  Furthermore, I think Confessions is wha...
